BASTROP, LA. Funeral services for Mr. Thomas "T.J." Coker, of the Beekman Community of Morehouse Parish, will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at the Tillou Baptist Church with the Reverends Doug Edwards and Glen Hutchison officiating. Interment will follow at Causey Cemetery officiated by Reverend Allen Eppinette and under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop.

Thomas Jefferson "T.J." Coker was born September 10, 1947 in Bastrop, Louisiana to the late George Washington Coker and Willie Mildred Westin Coker. He passed from this life, surrounded by his family, into the presence of our Lord on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Morehouse General Hospital in Bastrop. T.J. was a member of the Tillou Baptist Church and a retired millwright with the Greenville, Mississippi Carpet Mill. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, A.D. Coker and Kenneth Coker, and two sisters, Helen LeBrun and Ophelia Hudson.

Mr. Coker is survived by his wife of thirty-nine years, Linda Langley Coker of the Beekman Community, three daughters, Tracey Crumley and her husband Earl Crumley and Latrice Mattice and her husband Gary Mattice, all of the Beekman Community, and Sabrina Hemphill and her husband Jim Hemphill of Epps, Louisiana, seven grandchildren, Miriah Crumley, Jeffery Crumley, Dakota Mattice, Haleigh Mattice, Andrew Hemphill, Isabella Hemphill, and Zowie Hemphill, two brothers, Clifford Coker and his wife Minnie Coker and Danny Coker and his wife Donna Coker, two sisters, Juanice Gorman and her husband Cecil Gorman and Vickie Crawford and her husband Bobby Crawford.

Serving as pallbearers are Jason LeBrun, Allen Coker, Timmy Coker, Shane Gorman, Craig Chain, Bobby Crawford, and Darrell Malone. Honorary pallbearer is Joseph Crawford.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday, April 18, 2011 at the Tillou Baptist Church.
